| Now all we need is a moderator to lock out the stupid threads. Speaking of stupid threads... I stopped by "the pond" this weekend for the first time in over a year. Geeeze... only thing missing was a cow milking forum. |

| Wonder how Greenspan and his spin doctors will explain the sudden little rise in our GNP this month? |

| Free speech is a double edged swoard. What makes AR great is that "stupid threads" are alowed to run their course. As I recall, there has only ever been one thread deleted by Saeed in the years AR has been online. I don't think any of the other moderators, myself included, have ever deleted threads.
There are the occasional posters who seem to go over the line, but I personally prefer to simply request that they change their behaviour, and if that doesn't work, the rest of the members seem to be rather effective at riding the trolls relentlessly. |

I, for one, appreciate that this board is NOT moderated with a heavy hand. If it were, we probably wouldnt be here. Its a shame that some people that think of themselves as adults cant act as such. I am all for people stating their opinions, it helps us ALL consider other options, idea, etc... It is totally another to just antagonize the members for nothing more than their own childish kicks..... |

| I'm not looking for "pond' deletion type stuff. But after a while it would be nice for the ref to blow the whislte and say "enough!", lock the thread and let everyone cool down some.
I'm a moderator on another forum elsewhere, and other than fixing bad code and deleting obvious trolls, I don't touch anything.
One good place for a moderator would be with the problems they having on a few of the other forums. The "multiple personality" game. Something as simple as revieling some IP numbers would quickly put an end to some long runnig battles concerning who is really whom (and who else as well). But IP's are hidden her if your not a mod.
