You guys where right. It took the super high rings. I used the Leupold base and got a set of super high Redfield dual dovetail rings in matte black. I didn't feel the need for a 3 ring system on the 15" 222Rem. I like the style of the Redfield rings and there matte finish matches Mike Bellm's matte barrel perfict. I've said it before but, If ya'll mount alot of scopes, ya really do need to get the 1" reamer and ream the rings before ya mount a scope....You'll get a perfict fit every time and never damage the scopes [Wink]
Anyway, I'll get to try it out this weekend and see how the combo does. Hey....I may even have a 250imp to test also [Cool]

Sean,
I have the walnut maple long ranger style made by Denzel Roberts on it now, except the forend is only 8" long. I also have a custom set from VVCG i'll try. I have already shot some sub 1/2" moa groups with the long ranger and an Elite 3200 pistol scope.

Jules,

Sounds like a fun project! Keep us posted as to how it performs! Maybe after you put it togather in the exact configuration you want, we can get togather and do some Varminting this Fall or Spring [Big Grin]
