Just opened up my new Weaver Classic 2.5x8 handgun scope, hmmm it's an itty bitty thing, some how I thought it would be a bit bigger, looks real clear but field of view is nil. I've gotten used to those big 30mm Tasco got one 6x and one 7x, now you can SEE [Eek!] with those.
Good thing this is just for target shooting. I'll mount it on the 25-35 and see how she does in the A.M. IF I can get some ammo loaded by then, damn hip is giving me fits today and sitting for very long is out.
Bob, aka Mranch, did you get your weaver yet? Whatcha think?

Wes

I dont know Bob IMHO the field of view is real small but you shouldnt have any trouble sniping one of those elk over there. [Big Grin]

Just got back from the range, the weaver scope aint that bad, field of view is a little better than originally stated, big diff between the range and my back yard [Roll Eyes]

Sighting in was easy and I was actually able to get a decent group with the 25-35 using 75gr HP bullets, the 90s however wouldnt hold together sooo...I try some of these 60s I got before settling 100% on the 75s I'll save the heavier bullets for the 25-06 when I rebarrel that #1

All in all the weaver scope is probably as good as any for the price range it is clear easy to adjust but tiny, I'll get used to it after I've used it a few more times.
