I have a better bolt assembly " idea " for Pachmayr grips used on Contender pistols. Especially if you shoot the BAD BOY cartridges as do I. In my OPINION , it sure as hell beats the little 5/8 long bolt provided.
Anyone can make 25 pieces (yes 25!) for about $25.00 total. Just a buck apiece. Lets spread this idea out among our friendly group here. I love them and I am sure you will too.
(1) Take a 1/4-20 x 2-3/4 long socket head cap screw (2) Take piece of 3/8 O.D. x .277 I.D. tubing cut the tubing to 2-1/8 long (3) Insert tubing into grip and insert bolt.
This idea puts a solid steel type insert the entire length of the grip and you dont have to insert your hex key deep into grip.
Regards,
Bill
