I have my 17 Remington 16" BBL and 30 Herret 14" BBL Pistols know and the 223,358 JDJ, and 7mm-08 should be here next week. I put a 6-24x50 scope on my 17 Remington and it will shoot 1/4 group at 100yds with 20gr bullet at 3997fps and my 30 Herret has a 4x scope on it and it will shoot 1/2 group at 100yds with 125gr BT bullet at 2532fps. I would like to see what my 7mm-08 will do with a 139gr SST bullet. I have 8 more BBL coming they will be here in about a month.

Which is your favorite barrel? Or is it coming next month?

Interesting choice of bullet weight for the 30 Herret. Are you planning on staying with the lighter bullets, or use something in the 180 grain class?

I'm envious as well, I just can't seem to make the plunge into a Competitor. May have to plan a trip into Mike's (mssmagnum) area to fondle one first. (hope the offer is still good ?)

I have another question - If I followed your forays correctly, you sold your Contenders to shoot the Competitor exclusively. How far off base am I? As of this point in time - any regrets?

I do not have a favorite barrel as of this time.I will in joy seeing how the 454 Casull and 7-08 shoot in the Competitor pistol.
Yes I sold all my Contender to shoot Competitor exclusively with no regrets. I had my first Competitor a 375 JRS for about 4 years now. They are one of the best offhand shooting guns made.

I got my 221 Fireball and 223 Remington and my 7-30 Waters barrels today the only one I shoot is the 7-30 Waters and 1/2 5 shot group at 100yds. I need to check and see how fast it is pushing this 120gr BT bullet.
