Is anyone familiar with this particular version of the Marlin/Glenfield semi-auto 22lr? I can find NOTHING in any of my reference books about it, but the seller stated that it looks to be a factory job.

As these companies made thousands of varients from the 1930's to the 1970's for any number of concerns [Western Field, Sears, Western Auto, etc] I thought I'd pick the collective brains of this list of shooters for info.

(btw, it does meet the legal requirements of minimum measurements etc Barrel over 16" and overall length over 26")

Sean,

You could try over on the Marlin board as I think there are a few historians floating around over there. Post the picture you have.

May be able to shed some light on the subject.

Hey Fireball

Was that suppose to be funny???

If you intend to insult me.....at least get the handle correct........

Anyway, I don't usually take offense at comments from folks who live in California......I just consider the source.......land of fruits and nuts you know!

Fireball,

I have no idea what the actual value is, which is what I am looking for: a bit of history and idea as to the value.

I am going to scope it with a compact 6XAO Airgun scope and use it around the farm on the padded Millett window rest of my jeep to snipe Turtles, Crows, Squirrells etc [hould be fun [Big Grin] ]

Since I have no intentions of selling this particular peice, I don't mind telling you that it is in fantastic brand new shape, and I won it on Gunbroker for a whopping $79.00 [Eek!]

At that price, I figured I could buy it without knowing the value and not go wrong, as if nothing else, it will make an interesting truck gun for the purposes described above [Big Grin]
