T/C NUT I use to shoot Hor. 139 gr. bullets using same load as above. I stopped at 29 gr. because that load is very accurate in my XP. 1.75" groups at 100 yards with open sights. I shoot silhoutte matches with it and it has plenty of power to knock over rams at 200 meters. Is no where near max in my gun. I switched to Sierra because they were nice enough to give me 500 bullets. They seem to be just as accurate. I need to find another one to buy.

WOW...I'm getting 2340 to 2361fps with a Hornady 139gr SP! out of my 14.5" XP-100. Accuracy has been good to boot. I won't list the load here but, if any of you guys want it E-mail me and I'll tell ya. The load ejected very easy and I've reloaded them six times so far with no pressure signs. From the loads I see in books and on the net C.U.P. levels are kept low why ? The 7BR case has a C.U.P. of 52,000 but, the loads I'm seeing are around 45,000! I was thinking of rechambering/rebarreling this XP but,now it looks like I need to find another XP. This little BR case ROCKS

T/C, Dies are perhaps the biggest problem with my 7mm WSSM idea. I have thought about this quite a bit and I think it may be a good idea to change teh shoulder angle to match that of the WSM rounds. That way one could cut down 7mm WSM dies and use them. Still this is not a perfect way to go but not a bad one. One can always send off three fired cases to Redding and they will make you a set of dies for your round. Problem is they leave the price wide open saying it will depend on if they need to make new tooling for the dies. This will effect the final price of the dies. Generally, with my wildcat rounds, say for example my 338 Kahn(338-378 Wby W/ 35 degree shoulder), I will just get a Redding Comp bushing neck die and a Forster BR seating die in 338 Win Mag and rechamber both to fit the new round. This will be a problem with the 7mm WSSM as the 7mm BR is the only other real short 7mm out there and it is not offered in any die with a sliding sleeve. This is what you need as the sleeves are not heat treated and can easily be reamed to another configuration. Conventional dies like those from RCBS and Redding are far to hard to cut unless you buy a carbide reamer and even then the chances of breaking the reamer is pretty high. To spendy for me. Performance wise, I would say the 7mm WSSM would be roughly between the 7mm-08 and the 284 Win. Should be able to get a 140 gr pill going in the range of 2650 fps from a 15" barrel. Good Shooting!!! 50
