Am converting my XP-100 to a lightweight, walk-around, plinking rifle for the original cartridge, .221 Remington.

Any advice as to a nice, light-but-sturdy composite stock? How about a good aftermarket trigger adjustable from about 1 lb. to 3-lbs?

Prefer drop-ins if feasible. Am getting lazy as I age.

Thanks in advance for all your help,

AC

AC, why not one of the other Remington Rifles chambered to 221 FB? I think there are a few out there?
Just me, But hate to see a perfectly good handgun action go to another rifle, as these are becoming some what scarce.

Remington's Classic for '02 is chambered in 221. I have seen lots of them on the auction sites for sale now.

Because I can.

Don't worry about it staying a rifle forever. I have kept the original barrel, stock, trigger system, and zippered hard case set by. Almost all my Remingtons are set up as switch-barrel guns, and this will be too. Will be no problem putting it back into pistol mode for use several times a year.

I've even got a nice McMillan fibreglass XP-100 benchrest stock for it also, so it can be used for long-range handgun, as a rifle, and of course as an original 221 Fireball XP-100.

I don't want a larger-actioned .221, so the M700 is out.

So, do any of you guys know of a stock or trigger that would be a drop-in for the rifle mode?

AC

I have a buddy that had a McMillian (RIFLE) stock for an XP-100 that he is not using it anymore-if he still has it. It used to be mine. Interested?
