I was going through my firearms library today and noticed I had acculimated a large (for the topic) collection of books on Handgun Hunting. It got me to wondering just how many such books there are/were on the subject. Perhaps somebody on the list has a book I don't then I would have a book to look for. So please tell me which books on the subject do you have or know of?
These are the ones I currently own not in any particular order just as I can read them off from the shelf.
Pioneering Handgun Hunting by Al Goreing
Handgun Hunting by Nonte & Jurras(2 copies paper & Hardcover)
Hunting for Handgunners by Larry Kelly & J.D. Jones
Successful Handgun Hunting by Phil W. Johnston
Handgun Hunting {How to Travel the World in Pursuit of Wild Game} by Mark Hampton
The Ultimate Guide to Handgun Hunting {Tips and Tactics for Hunting Small & Big Game} by Clair Rees
The following are more like magazines except they are totally devoted to the subject of hunting with handguns. They are mostly what was called a "Specility Publication".
They are as follows:
A Complete Guide to Handgun Hunting by Bob Milek, Field Editor G&A Magazine
Handgun Hunting Across North America by Bob Milek G&A Field Editor.{Guns and Ammo Action Series # 5}
Hunting Handguns by the authors of Shooting Times Magazine circa 1985.
Hunting with Handguns 3 issues Fall 1982, Spring 1982,1983.
by the authers and from the publishers of Combat Handguns.

Well thats all I have. Not really a lot considering the size of my firearms library(I have every issue of "The Gun Digest" from 1960 to Present and a 1955 issue as well) but a pretty good collection considering the subject. So Please tell me are there any major or minor books I am missing? Thanks. Tell me what books are in your library

So this is all the handgun hunting books known to exist? No new titles? Oh well I was hoping I missed a couple so I had something to add to the collection. Has anybody read any of the above books? what did you think of them? Does anybody but me Have Bob Mileks "Books" (more like a thick magazine really) on Handgun Hunting? Or read them?

Dang now I know all of those are out there I feel bad with only "Hunting For Handgunners" on my bookshelf!
Guess I need to look into getting some of the others. What order wou put them in from best to less than best?

I have reread the Kelly/Jones book several times over the years. I like combinations like that better than one long book.

Would love to get the rest of Milek's writings also. I can rember the time when I wondered how anyone could handle a cartridge like the 30 Herrett in a handgun.

I know that even now, I would much rather shoot my 45-70 as a piston than out of my Heavy barreled Remington Rolling block!

Nontes and Jurras book is a must read then Hamptons book. I hav'nt had a chance to Read Clair rees book as Its new and I just got my copy. Any of the Milek books are a derinate read you may be able to get them through peterson Publishing as they were specality publications at the time they came out(i have a few others by Milek as well just can't remember all the titals just now. the other books are all good as well. the real jewl if you can find a copy is Pioneering handgun Hunting its al older self published hard cover book and extremely hard to get as its a collectors item. worth buying through if you can find a copy.

I don't own any. I didn't see the need as it is still hunting and I have spent most of my life hunting.
