HHI6818Can you say, "Sledgehammer!!"
I went to the silhouette range on Wed. for a little pratice with the XP100 7BR and FA 44 Mag. and took a long the 35-06JDJ. I'm still shooting a fire form load of 56.0 grs of RL15 behind a Hor. 250 gr SP. It sure does thump the sighter targets. Three other guys shot it and had a ball. One fellow is an excellent standing shooter and he hit the 200 meter ram 3 out of 4 tries,STANDING!!! You should see the dirt fly up in the air when the bullet splatters on the target and hits the ground.

DanBWhat kinds FPS you getting from that? Just curious, my 14" .338JDJ#2 Contender is kicking 225's at 2200fps and 180's at just under 2500 with RL-15.

HHI6818Hi Dan,
I finally broke down an ordered a chronograph on Friday. JD's load data lists the following velocities
180 gr. @ 2742 FPS
225 gr. @ 2614
250 gr. @ 2415

HHI6818Same round. The 35-06JDJ has a 60 degree shoulder.
