For some unknown reason I bought 45/410 Super Comanche pistol. Has any ever used one that has good or bad comments?

I've had no special luck with the two T/C Contender 45/410 barrels I've owned over the years. Shot patterns are pretty thin. Slugs shoot really low when zero'd to center the shot pattern, but that's no loss as the 88 gr .395 slugs are a pretty weak reed. 45 Colt ammo sometimes shoots okay at 50 feet but the wheels fall off by the time the bullets reaches 25 yards where they're tipping sideways. Found a couple packets of three OOO and four OO buckshot but have yet to try them. I suppose a 45/410 is a handy enough little gat for careless rabbits and inquisitive squirrels, as well as aggressive pests. Perhaps your mileage will vary...please keep us posted.

When the weather cools a little I'll go out and try it and get back to you; the cost of the gun isn't that bad and the workmanship looks good if they will shoot well.

The weather cooled so I went out and fired the Comanche. The 410 has some definate aplications but th 45 I'm not sure about. You have to remember I'm probably not the best shot in the world. I'll report more with the further firings in case some one is considering buying one.

Well, I finally tried the 410 buckshot loads in the T/C Contender 10 inch 45/410 barrel. What a mess! At 10 yards only two of three 000 pellets would hit the 17 x 22 inch target paper. Sometimes the two landed within inches of each other, other times they were separated by a space of a foot; where the other pellet went who knows. The four pellet 00 load did little better, with only 3 of 4 pellets perforating the paper on any one shot. I am really glad I didn't run either of these loads over my Shooting Chrony before finding out just how wild they are. Color them worthless in this tube. Three inch shot loads patterned okay at seven and ten yards but at that distance a 22 short will harvest anything a burst of 410 shot will. I am again reminded why I did not regret selling my first 45/410 barrel.

I found the #4 and #6 shot in the 45/410 contender barrel to be a little better and the contemder can shoot 3" shells. The comanche will only shoot the 2 1/2 in shells. The reason is because the ones that shoot 3" snells will also chamber a 45-70
