I just talked to the fine folks at Redding Reloading about reusability between dies for the TCU series. First, Bruce (the guy I talked to) didn't say anything about only being able to use the 7TCU bushing die for one caliber down (ie 6.5mm), but instead told me that he uses one for his 6 TCU. That would tend to agree with my thought that there is nothing preventing you from reusing that expensive Redding bushing die. My primary question to him was regarding the 7TCU body sizing die. I realize this isn't an optimal scenario, but I wanted to be able to potentially body size my 6.5 TCU without touching the neck. He again told me basically what I figured, but at least that gives me grounds to experiment with it. Obviously part of the shoulder won't get touched, so maybe it will work and maybe it won't. Anyway those are my findings...

They told me that they don't recommend going down more that one size. I have a 7TCU bushing that I use for my 6TCU.

Brett, thanks for the info. I ahve talked to Bruce Merkur many times in the past years. He has always done his best to help me. If I remember right he is actually from Ks. Shawnee or Overland Park area I believe. I just got a new set of Redding 7 TCU dies and am going to try them. The RCBS has done me well in the past but have had some problems lately the I contribute to the dies. If not I still have an excellent set of dies, now what to do with the other two sets I already had? LOL Jeff
