Does anyone know what the lightest bullet they make in .375 caliber? The lightest I've found is hornady 225 spire point.
Thank you for the help.

Sierra makes a 200gr RN. Works well on deer as long as you don't push it too fast.

Hornady also makes a 220 grain Flat Nose. What are you reloading?

I have a 375 JDJ and was looking for a cheaper less premium bullet just to shoot. I'd probably shoot it more if I wasn't thinking how much it costs every time I pull the trigger. Thanks for all the responses.

Do what I did. Sierra sells seconds at the factory in Sedaila, MO. I don't know if you can order them over the phone. I buy the Sierra 200 grn flat point by the pound and they shoot great. These are what I sight in with and let my buddies shoot cause they are scared of the 260grn bullets.
I was there last summer and got a sack full of them. I also shoot the Hornady 220grn flat point for hunting whitetails and hogs in Oklahoma. They shoot great in the 14" SSK barrel. Here is a photo link of my .375JDJ.

Thanks. I really like it. I have a real good load worked up for the 220 grn bullet. It is hitting within an inch at 100yds now. Shoots pretty good at 200 also. I getting ready to try the 260grn just for funnies. I don't think I would ever hunt with in Oklahoma but might work up a load if I happen to hunt CO for elk. The recoil is not near as harsh as I thought it might be. I like shooting it better than my 45-70 w/300 grn bullets. The 45-70 is fun and sure takes a deer down with authourity. Both get attention when I light'em up at the range. Had some Scouts at the range here while back shooting .22s. I waited until they were reloading and touched one off on the .375. Some of them ran out from under the cover all wild eyed. They all had to come down and see it and the Scout Master even shot it once.

McClura:
Try Hornady's 225's With AA2520, I've been able to touch holes with my 375JDJ @ 100yds(12" barrel). What powder you burning in your 45/70. My SSK barrel(14")likes H322 w/300gr and IMR 3031 with Hornady 350gr. The 350 did the number on a big Ohio buck this year for me, Big recoil difference between 300gr and 350 gr!

My 12" 375JDJ loves H322 with Hornady's 220 grain Flat Nose. I usually shoot 50 to 75 rounds, which satisfies my cravings for recoil for a few weeks!

Just as a note I just picked up the new Shooting Times as he had a lot of reloading data for the lighter .375 JDJ bullets. they were looking at the new Contender and .375 JDJ barrels and new T/C factory loads.

I think they tested about everything out there from 200-250 grains.
