I visit this site almost every day, but infrequently post. I own two Contender frames (blue and Alloy)and an Encore. Been shooting Contenders since 1984. Use them for handgun hunting deer, and spend the off season working up loads and practicing as well as reading what you experts post.

Currently working on 250 Savage loads in a 15" barrel I purchased from Midway. I own or have owned: 22LR, 22 Mag., 223, 7-30, 260, 35 Rem., 44 Mag., 45/410, and 357 Max.
Thanks for asking.
Greg

Gregory, I have always thought that the 250 Savage would be fun to load for. Let us know how it turns out. No experts here, just opinions. Slim

I really liked this barrel, but I sold it to finance my first custom barrel, which is on order.
I used the 120 Rem bullet and 46 gr. IMR4350 for 2600 fps.

This barrel is frustrating me. It will shoot three shots in a tight group, then the next two shots group off by themselves. I just pulled the scope off and checked the base screws, and tightened everything up and I'll be back at the range this weekend. I really like this caliber and hope I can get it to shoot. Unfortunatly it's not a legal handgun deer cartridge in Illinois. I was living in Indiana when I bought it.

Gregory next time you shoot the barrel check the Paralax. I had a 7TCU barrel that did that until I got a scope with PA adjustments and then it was a one hole grouper.

Even if it's a lie huh? OK, There was a grandfather clock in an old castle in England that sat in the same spot against the same wall for so long a time that the shadow from the pendulum wore a hole in the wall. Now, my new 308 Bellm re-chamber just put three rounds inside a quarter at 200 yards. Sierra 150 sptzr. 41gr. IMR/4895 CCI200...........Top that! You web footed Rascal!!! Jim...... [Big Grin]

Way to go, Poppy09!

My hat always goes off to a good man on the reloading and shooting bench!

Reports like that are my "pay day." It is what I work for.

Congrats!

Well, I posted here a while back right after I ordered my encore frame and 7mm-08 barrel. I still haven't picked them up but they are here, now I'm just waiting on the Burris 3-12X to get here (should be here by Wednesday), so I can get it setup and do some shooting. Plan on visiting here a lot more often!

Gordon
