Does anyone have experience with the Stryker in ,243? I am thinking about buying one but am NOT a fan of the .243. I am going to deer hunt with it. Will it be a better pistol than a .35 rem in a 14 inch Contender? I hunt woods but am wanting something that will kill a deer at 250 yards if I manage to see one in a field. A guy has one to sell sell in stainless with fluted barrel. As far as I know it does not have muzzle brake. Not shot over a 100 times. Any idea what one is worth? Thanks guys I really enjoy the single shot forum

YEP, had one a year or so ago. It was the most accurate, most frustrating handgun I have ever shot, but man did it shoot. It currently belongs to a friend of a guy that frequents this site. Maybe he can offer some more info on it. Attached is the link to an article on the experiences with a .243 Savage Striker. I replaced the .243 Striker with a Virgin Valley Custom Guns 6mm T/CU Contender. I do love 6mm Handguns. Good luck Larry Savage Striker Article

I have a .243 Striker I have killed around half a dozen whitetail with . It kills them OK , but it would not be my choice for woods hunting . Blood trails have been pretty much non-existant , and it seems they tend to run a bit after good hits..... [ 02-17-2003, 18:17: Message edited by: sdgunslinger ]
