A friend who is not a gun enthusiast but recently purchased a pistol for home defense asked me for recommendations on the best type of lockbox to keep next to the bed. He has small children and wants something that will keep them out but that is also very quick and easy to get the gun out of, even at night. I've seen the ones with finger groove keypads, but I have no idea of how those products are in real world use, or of their reliability. Any opinions on this topic based on first hand product experience would be greatly appreciated.

I was impressed by the LockSaf model which uses biometric fingerprint recognition to open. It is very well made and after testing it thoroughly I found it to be reliable. Here's a link: http://www.locksaf.com/biometric-safe-manufacturer/

This always sums it up for me keep in mind I have no small children at home and even when I did they were taught the handling of firearms as soon as they were big enough to carry them. commandments of safetyHL by skipper_mso488, on Flickr Even my spell checker wants to replace Obama, it just doesn't have any suggestions. jerry.baldwin06@comcast.net
