DENVER (AP) — An attorney has filed a lawsuit against Denver and a police officer alleging police misconduct in the arrest of a man in connection with a series of attacks in downtown Denver.Attorney David Lane says two witnesses said their statements against Aaron Puller were misstated. Puller was released after spending 16 days in jail after Judge Edward Bronfin ruled there was what he called a reckless disregard for the truth by the arresting officer, detective Paul Baca.Lane said the arrest on charges of a bias motivated crime and robbery was part of a continuing pattern of abuse by Denver police and he asked for compensatory damages.Denver city attorney David Broadwell said he has not seen the lawsuit and had no comment.Judge Edward Bronfin ruled there was what he called a reckless disregard for the truth by the arresting officer, detective Paul Baca. .Lane said the arrest on charges of a bias motivated crime and robbery was part of a continuing pattern of abuse by Denver police and he asked for compensatory damages.Denver city attorney David Broadwell said he has not seen the lawsuit and had no comment | ||
