According to NRA-ILA, the BATFE has issued the letter exempting Nevada CCW permittees from the background check when purchasing firearms as long as the permit was issued on or after July 1, 2011 (the date AB282 went into effect).
...and as a Texas Peace Officer, who does not have a CHL, I still have to go through the background check...go figure. I know, I really need to get a CHL too!

Also here in Texas the "castle doctrine " was instated so one does not need the CCL to carry in your vehicle (same as your home). It will not help you on filling out your 4473. That being said;it would still be most prudent to have your CCL anyway because there are WAY TOO MANY cops who don't know the law.I speak from personal experience while holding a CCL. In a seperate instance my son was cuffed + put into the squad car before the cop found out that he was legal.

I have a National CCW and still have to wait 10 days in California. Soon to be Nevada resident.

In Florida, no call-in is required for CCW holders, but most shops do out of paranoia. I have told them to call in if they like, but I'm not paying for it and if they don't like it they can keep their gun.
