What do you think of Glock's? Are Glock's the #1"Best" over all? I have been scopeing out the 45acp...seems the glock's 13 rounds kinda runs rings around the colt/kimber/clones 1911's 7+1.. Lawdy Damn Da score Glock = 1 Colt/1911's = 0

What do I think you ask? Well I carry 2 out of 3 everyday as my CCW tools. I know they are very reliable and no manufacturer, not even H&K has put their pistols through the torture tests that Glock and other have done in the past. Now you or others can check out the U-TUBE for tests run on a Glock and discover for yourselves wheather or not a Glock is dependable under all conditions you might enter into. Yes, that model 21-SF is a winner!

Glocks have a well deserved reputation for reliability. The Glock 30SF is a short frame 45ACP that holds 10 rounds! Try it out at your local gun shop. The 30 SFs are hard to find I believe. I own a Glock 17, 17L and a Glock 22. Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. 19,17 and 26. I'm happy. I just picked up some 33rd mags for the 17 and 19 just to piss off Sarah Brady. When will this current nightmare end.

Ske1eter.......only a wanna be cowboy from the state of TEXASS, would keep hitting a horse in the head. Now take a look at the clip on U-Tube, where the guy ties a new Glock on a rope to the back of his pickup truck and drags it through the desert for miles. Then picks up the gun, works the slide and it still goes Bang Bang Bang with no hang ups or JAMS! I rest my case with the Glocks dependability gents.

Glock is having TONS of trouble with the 4th gen models. Stick to the gen 3 and lower batch. Perry

BlackbearHunter, I don't really believe there is such a thing as a #1-Pistol for conceal carry. However, Glocks are very good in that department no doubt. The Springfields are very nice and accurate, just don't have the track record as of yet like the Glock. The H&K pistols are top-shelf too but I don't like taking one of those apart "nightmare" compared to a Glock etc. I love my Kimbers but they don't carry lots of rounds in the mag, plus some other issues that only concern myself. Ruger too has a very good pistol but I have not seen any tests on there models compard to a Glock etc.

I have 4 various 1911s, a SIG P229, and a Glock 23. The G23 is my "go to" pistol for CCW and home defense (sits next to my 12ga Benelli Nova Tactical and MSAR STG-556). Can't beat Glock's simplicity and reliability. BH1 There are no flies on 6.5s!

Ah, maybe so. But threads like this are a group hug at best, or a circle j*rk at worst. The Glock Kool-aid flows sweet and deep. Enjoy your time together.

Glock sux -- Ace #1 crappy, mushy trigger of all time. Unsupported chamber, Google "Glock kB" -- Dean Speir (Who is essentially a smug, ego driven asshole in most regards, but in this instance has a legitimate point.) It's the unsupported chamber that makes them "reliable" -- Overbored breech and deep cut feed ramp, works on the same principle as the funnel down the goose's neck for force feeding pate foie gras production. Steel insets for the slide rails are skimpy. Plastic trigger linkage. Ergonomic cluster-boink. First choice as side arm for most law enforcement (Although the Springfield XD is displacing that title.) -- Any law enforcement will tell you, "Side arm is just to cover my ass until I can get to the long-gun in the squad car." Would I carry one for self-defense? Yeah, but there's better options. Ford makes a fine truck, but there are better options.

I own a glock 17-- never been able to 'warm up' to it. I carry either a colt 1911 or a smith and wesson revolver. Feel very warm with either of them.

Guess that all explains why they run for over 100,000 rounds! Just how many times have you seen an LEO "get the long gun in the squad car"? I suspect they would be equally incompetent with those. Hey! I run into bores who don't know when to quit. I owned a Glock 22 . . . for about three weeks, when I traded it in for a 1911.

Rule number one. It has to go bang everytime. Althought I'm not a big fan of Glocks, they seem to have this down.

I have one Glock...a Model 20 (10m/m) chock-a-block full of Black Talons. I hate it. It is heavy, clumsy, and utterly reliable. So even though I can't warm up to it, I carry it every day of my life. Actually, I carry two pistols every day. The other is a Smith 940 (640, but in 9m/m). That pistol I like the feel of, and it isn't as heavy (duh! It only carries 5 rounds of a smaller cartridge, not 16 of the bigger cartridge as the Glock does). If I was going to rely on a 9m/m semi for everday use, I think I would go with one of the new polymer-framed Walthers instead. They are VERY comfortable in my hands, and very light to boot...and around here they are just over $500 NIB.

Canuck....I too don't have any passion for a Plastic Pistol at all, plan ugly as sin. However, since I have changed to after market barrels and installed new trigger assemblies in all 3 of my carry or CCW tools, along with new heavier guide rods and springs, I am completely satisfied to bet my life on these pistols called GLOCKS. I have several 1911's, 2 of which will shoot 1.5-inch groups off a rest at 50yds (Kimber & Gold Cup) not to mention a Para-Ord, 2 more Kimbers, a Springfield and a bobbed tail Rock Island. I really love 1911's but can not shoot them as fast or as accurate with bad thumbs anymore. The Glocks takes this problem out of the equation and I am happy! No safety's to sweep off and same goes for my Sig Sauer pistol. Now 2 of my GLOCK CCW weapons will shoot 2.5 inches at 25 yards the other one, model 29 will shoot 3.5 - to 4.5-inches at 25 yards......that is good enough where I stand. They have never JAMMED period! I have at least 4,000 rounds through 2 of them and 2,500 down the barrel of the sub-compact model 29 in 10mm cal.

Blue Dog - I hope you didn't miss my sarcasm... I said the Glock is ugly, heavy, AND UTTERLY RELIABLE ...and as a result I carry one every day of my life. I hate the gun, but as it works each time, every time, I rely on it anyway. I may be opinionated and stupid (just ask my wife!!), but I'm not crazy enough to bet my life on something that doesn't work. My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

Canuck those are my exact feeling too when it comes to my CCW pistols, all GLOCKS you bet.

If it doesn't go bang everytime why keep it? Glocks aren't comfortable, odd recoil. Both of my 1911's, SIG, Barretta, Ruger, and Taurus go bang every time. What makes Glock so special just because it can keep up? A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.

Tell me about something that wasn't fixed 10 years ago like this one was. It is old bullshit that was fixed with the Gen 2 guns. The rest of what you say about Speir is completely correct, except the legitimate point, which isn't. Once some idiot gets something out there and doesn't correct it when it is fixed, other people will still believe the lie for years, like the Beretta slides will all break in a couple months. I have a Glock 19, as does my wife, so we can interchange mags, etc if ever we needed to, but my personal CCW gun is a Smith Airweight in 38sp. The Glock is just too wide for me personally to conceal well. The wife hides hers fine. Larry....on this subject you and I appear to think a lot alike. I prefer my S&W 940 for concealed carry (in the back pocket of my pants). But, I also carry a Glock 20 when total concealment is not absolutely required. As to some of the other comments in this thread...I also have a .45 ACP SIG P220, an S&W 645 and several others. The advantage I see to the Glock 20 is that I get it in 10 m/m, totally reliable, more safe in my hands than a loaded, cocked and locked M1911, AND with 16 shots available before I would have to do ANY reload manuever. With the drop-free mags, another 15 rounds are just a heart beat away....not that I ever expect to use them, but then I never really expect to use round #1, either. It is the unexpected I want to be able to cope with. My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.
