S&W Airweight in .38
Ruger LCP in .380
Any of the ultra compact 1911's in 9mm
CZ 2075

STI makes excellent pistols. My issue is that a carry gun has to be a gun one will carry...any weather, any clothing, any time, any place....and therefore the smaller the better. I have friends that "carry" similar pistols to the STI and many times they are not carrying...when asked why....too hot, only wearing shorts and T shirt, etc.

Even a .380 is far better than no gun at all....

My picks:

For the smallest, most reliable, a S&W 5 Shot 2".
My favorite is the Mod 38 Bodyguard [Airweight].

For the best "full sized" gun a Colt Light Weight Commander, in 45 ACP.

For me it is a 1911 in 45 ACP or Super

You won't catch me without my Glock 29 stuffed full of Winchester Silvertips in an ITP holster. I feel well prepared for any fight, thusly accompanied.

This is right in there with: "blondes, brunettes, or red-heads?"

No doubt the 228 is a great handgun, but mine is a pain to conceal.

My current concealed carry choice is a Kahr PM9.

How's about the "one you are carrying right now"?

The rest are worhtless.

Me, a G27 with 23 rounds 165 HST... 12 aboard, a reload of 11.

Big Grin Have to agree with Andrew.

What do I prefer?

Summer carry in light clothing: H&K P7M8

Any other time: 1911 based pistol in 45 ACP or Super. (Para and STI double column guns, Colt or custom single stacks.) SIG 229 in 40 S&W.

Any of the Kahrs, I have the the P40, MK9 and the PM9 and they all fit with any clothing. I am never without one of them except when I have either my Smith 637 airweight.

Yep your right on with a that statement that is why a person needs many handguns so he has the right one to pick for for the right situation.
