Shooting the Colt New Agent 9mm

I recently purchased a Colt New Agent in 9mm. After shooting about 400 rounds out of it, all I can say is GREAT! I was worried the trench sight would not be very accurate. It did take some getting used to. But after a while I was able to hit where I wanted without effort. Monday, I had a chance to shoot a fifty shot qualification course with twenty Deputies from a local county detention facility (jail) and, even though they were using full size pistols, with the little Colt I was able to best all but one of them.

The gun is very light, especially for a 1911. Takedown is easy.

This gun is now my first choice for concealed carry both on and off the job.

Anyone else try one of these?

I have hanled the Colt Agent but not shot one.

However the trench sight reminds me of the sights on a Browning 1910 in .380 I had once.

I carried it as a No2. I had to shoot it on the standard 50round qual course starting at 25 yards, going to 5 yards.
I had not problems shooting 100% with that little gun. In fact it is still after all these years the most accurate 380 pistol I have fired.

Sometimes I wish I still had it...

I have a Defender and have looked at the agent a couple of times. I'll look again.

I also have the Defender. Colt's website shows they offer the Defender in 9mm too.

The Defender should be great too. It's the same gun but with sights. I wanted it to be as slick and fast as possible under a jacket so I went with the New Agent because it doesn't have sights. The only problem with the trench view is that you see nothing in low light. It all just turns into one big blob of black. So, I added the Crimson Trace grips for use in low/no light. They work out very well for that.
