I have captured all data contained in the replies to the initial posting by Bluecard on 02-25-05. It totals up to 362 agencies as of 4-11-10. I believe that his original intent in this thread, was to assist himself and others in getting support in their department for 1911 duty carry. From all of the replies over the past few years, it is my belief that this was a very worthwhile goal. Perhaps you officers would like to review the list and suggest additions, updates or changes to be made. If so, please post or send me a PM and I will include these requests onto the list as a means of trying to be as accurate as possible. I know some of the Sheriff Departments are locally referred to as Sheriff Offices, if so please forgive my labeling all Sheriff operations as Departments.

Several of you have requested copies of a complete list of these numerous replies – I have entered the list into both a MS Word document and Excel spreadsheet file. After a few days of updates or corrections being posted I will be glad to send out these files to anyone requesting them. Just send me a PM with your e-mail and I will send you either or both files.

Maybe one or more of you are interested in a little more informative data to be captured and incorporated into this list? If it is so desired, the following data could easily be added to the spreadsheet.

Me and a buddy that lived in OP were coming home from the ranch one night and this officer had a car pulled over with 3 large males out of the vehicle, noticibly giving him lip. My buddy was a Homeland Sec. tac officer and told me to turn around and go back. Upon arrivial we acknowledged our presence to the officer, which was a noticiable comfort to him. He was trying to get the 2 males back in the car and just deal with the driver, they would not do it. Instead of using force my buddy caleed his 160# great dane out of the back seat and commanded him to heal...in german. The dog did it. At this point all 3 got in the car and would not come out until we "called the attack dog off". It was prety funny to see. We were clearly out muscled, definetely over gunned but the table turned at the sight of the "attack dog" sitting on his ass at my buddies side.
