I'v purchased a full size and a ultra compact kimber 1911 in the past year. I have an outside the pants nice leather holster from glaco that is perfect when im wearing a long coat. However im looking for a inside the waist band holster to carry more concealed. Pref. High rise! anyone have any suggestions? | ||

I've been using Andrews Custom Leather for years, but I steppted on my IWB 1911 Commander holster a few weeks ago and bent the spring. I've had a Galco horsehide IWB Commander holster laying around for years. I strapped it on and I love it. Great angle and very comfortable. Might just stick with what you already are using. | |||

A Milt Sarks or G.WM. Davis "Summer Special" is the most comfortable concealed holster I have ever used. I have been wearing one for more years than I can remember. If carried cocked and locked, you'll want an IWB holster that places a generous piece of leather between your torso and the cocked hammer and tang. I believe that High Noon Holsters has such a model. | |||

I use a Ross Leather holster (from Sportsmans Warehouse) for my 1911, but it might sit a bit low if you prefer a really hi-ride. (To me those feel like the gun is gonna fall out of my pants!) I have a full size and an Ultra Compact. I've found for carry I want a hammer strap. I've had the safety get pushed off in carry too many times. Also, I figure with a 1911, if I'm going to carry I do it with a pancake outside and then dress to conceal. 1911 is damned big for IWB. | |||

I have used the Galco summer comfort IWB for Glock 23, fullsize Kimber, and compact Kimber for several years. I really like these holsters, and they can usually be found at considerable discount on Ebay. | |||
