It looks like a development of the 39 series Smith & Wesson, but I can't be sure. CZ? Where can I find information concerning make, model, and if it is currently manufactured? Thanks.

It is definitely a Smith. CZ has the safety on the frame. My guess would be 909, but I can't be sure.

Happy 4th. The pistol is a Smith and Wesson, looks like a third generation pistol, either a 5904 if it is a double stack or a 3904 if it is a single stack (I can't tell from the picture). The SW 5906 has a stainless frame and slide, not the blued one in the picture. Take a look at gunbroker (www.gunbroker.com)- there are examples of both types for sale. I have a number of SW 3rd gen. pistols (5906, 6906, 6904, 4566, 4516, and 3914) and they are known as solid reliable, accurate and safe pistols, usually available at a good price. Good luck.

best wishes- oldandslow

I stand corrected. Smith calls the blued version a 5904..... the stainless version of the same damn pistol is the 5906. Roll Eyes

BTW - For you nitpickers..... that's a late model 5904. Not a pistol a "pistolero" would carry! Wink
