We carry an alarm in our pocket! Its on the remote for your car. In case of a threat you can push that alarm. A security guy says that a threatening person will not want to stay around with that alarm blasting. It may work in your house as well.

Good idea! It's also a good "distraction" that could momentarily take away the attacker's "element of surprise" advantage. But you better have plan "B" ready because if the guy is very determined in his plans, it might just provoke him to escalate things.

And I know mine will work to activate the alarm when I am on the other side of the house from the car in the garage. Larry "Peace is that brief glorious moment in history, when everybody stands around reloading" -- Thomas Jefferson

Might or might not work so many car alams go off by accident a lot of people don't pay attention to them any more.

Do what you want. The security person said that a hostile person is more likely to leave with the horn blowing. He also suggested having a firearm and taking many other precautions.

My pocket alarm goes off five times then I have to reload it. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.

If "more likely" gives you the warm and fuzzies then by all means,... but my pocket alams goes of 9 times and then I load with a 10 Round mag of 45's _____________________________________________________ A 9mm may expand to a larger diameter, but a 45 ain't going to shrink Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened. - Winston Churchill

Conservative Rifleman, the ideal setup would be coupled to an internal house alarm. Loud! Ignore these John Waynes! Let them talk their sheet...... They'd be OWNED in a surprise home invasion!

I think that anything that gives you an edge is good, I practice throwing my wife in front of me while she shouts "he's going to shoot you!" to buy me time and slow down attackers. I'll just tell her to activate the car alarm at the same time. people really do need to think about all their options, not only for offense, defense but also for cover and run etc. You never know, all the tips help. I agree with that statement and practice it every time I go out in public. We sat down for dinner at a restaurant the other night and my wife asked me "What would you do if a gunman came in right now?" Now I had already chosen our table and my seat so I could see the main entrance and without even a heartbeat in between I responded "I'd throw my glass against that wall." I went on to explain while the BG was trying to figure out what the noise was all about looking away from me I'd have all the time I needed to draw my weapon and fire. I really do like to be prepared for action than have to react when an unexpected situation arises. Even my spell checker wants to replace Obama, it just doesn't have any suggestions. jerry.baldwin06@comcast.net
