Anyone have any personal experience? It seems to be priced way below what I assume is the competition ie. Glock 43, Walther PPS, S&W Shield etc. Thanks, Peter. Solid little pistol. Fairly accurate, easy to carry, and seems reliable based on the few hundred rounds we've put through it. Pretty long and heavy trigger though, but it can be gotten used to with a bit of practice. For a budget carry piece, it's pretty decent. _____________________ A successful man is one who earns more money than his wife can spend.

Taurus, like a lot of the budget handguns, work well for a few hundred rounds. When one breaks, they are hard to get serviced or parts for.

Buy the Glock you well be far better off. Taurus like many makers get it right some of the time. The big boys get it right 99 percent of the time. But I seen too many failure in Taurus firearms to be convinced that they are worth while buying. I do own two of there tracker revolvers I carry one of them as a back packing handgun and shoot it little. The other I brought because if sell it I'll make money on it. They both were free market guns and very reasonable prices. One had all ready been sent back and the bugs taken out of it. Unless I can buy Taurus at less then 50% of market value I won't even look at them.

I have to agree with p-dog on this one. My daughter's boyfriend has one and she has a hard time with the heavy trigger pull. I have a Glock 43 that is much better. Yes, you can get the Taurus for $200, but I personally would not do it. And like p-dog, the only Taurus guns I have are two Trackers, one in .41 and one in .357. Those are both fine guns. Hmmm. Perhaps their revolvers are better than their semiautos? I have a Taurus 4" SS revolver in 22mag. and it shoots reliably and quite well. Thanks for the advice. It is not that there guns can not be reliable it is that a enough of them are not to make me hesitant to buy them. Really to want to risk your life on the lowest price one if you can afford something better.

Taurus revolvers are okay. I've had two, still have one, that have been reliable(800 or so rounds in 8 years) and another that family in Ohio has (probably not fired as much as mine). Others that I've run across along the way seem to hold up as well. Enough to say they are acceptable. Semiauto's are different issue. Seen to many that pins walk out on, springs bind, etc.. The revolver we no longer have was stolen several years ago in a break in. The Ruger GP141 taken at the same time was recovered with a partially defaced serial number so I was unable to get it back. The Taurus has not been found, or if it has not identified as mine. The Taurus was my carry gun until Glock came up with Short Frames. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.
