This one should be interesting. Lots of strong opinions for these pistols.

Question:
Which do you prefer overall?

Choices:
1911 models
Polymer..Glocks and XDs

i sold my last colt 1911 or whatever it was called about 1984 and waited for someone to invent the glock------
i know a guy who was able to trade a 1911 for a black powder revolver(one of those $50 italian ones)what an upgrade.brilliant! didnt have to costomise it to make it reliable, saved himself hundreds

Deja vu all over again--
Collector Value good 1911's

Consumer value-- poly

competed with Gold cup's and Clark customs
carried 1911 styles by various makers for years--

Now it's a HK 45 compact--
never ever fails (15+ years)
(I know it will occur @ some point, be it gun, clip or ammo),
DA, factory Ambi,factory nite sites(recharged)--etc

Duty gun 1911, many reason...still subscribe to the theory that bad guys don't like cops w/cocked and locked pistols and custom grips.

XD for off duty .357Sig. Carry the same round as Texas DPS. More rounds, same grip angle

Like them all, actually as there is something to like about the XD, Glock, etc. But, for me, the 1911 is damn near perfection.......JMHO.

1. Para-Ordnance P-14
2. High Power 40 S&W

I'm a big boy, 6'2" and 220 so either carries in a Sparks Summer Special. And, they are about a twenty minute drive to go look at stuff.
