It's against our company's policy to carry a firearm in one of their vehicles. Mainly because of the clients and places we sometimes go. And believe me, some places you really wish you were armed. Are any of ya'll in the same situation?

That's a bad situation.

Fortunately for those of us in Kentucky, we don't have to make the decision to follow company policy or arm ourselves. http://www.lrc.ky.gov/krs/527-00/020.PDF Look at subsection (8).

Well, my office is a tenant in a bank building. Try to let them find a gun in there. Smiler They do allow me to leave it in the car in the parking lot, by law I suppose.

Griz,

How about OC spray and or TASER? OC is the gift that keeps on giving and the cycle on the civilian TASER is ten or fifteen seconds long. Plenty of time to open a can of whupass...

I have a frind who has the same problem.

It's there car, there gas, and they sign he paycheck. I guess they have stipulations on how you conduct yourself if you choose to work for them.

On the other hand it's your life and your 2nd ammendment and your freedom.

If they catch you the only thing they can do is fire you. There will be no felony wraps because of this. They are not the police and you don't have to worry about them pulling you over on the interstate and it is'nt any of there business if you choose to practise your second amendment. If you choose to do it discreetly then what they don't know won't hurt you.

Pretty common in the oilfield. I belive it is Exxon/Mobil that goes so far as to declare your personal vehicle a "company worksite" when you are enroute to conduct any business associated with them (on their property or not) and threatens to remove your employer from their approved list if you don't comply.

Same here.

I did tell the wife that if I am killed by an act of violence that I could have defended myself from (ie. concealed carry), to hire the biggest shyster lywer, I mean lawyer, and sue the s...it out of my employer.

I own a business and personally dont care if my employees carry but the liability falls back on the deepest pockets in a law suit so yes in my handbook it says employees can not carry in my vehicles or any place my company does work. plus the dot statues state no commercial vehicle other than postal or armored trucks can have fire arms. but all that said i dont search the trucks and i do beleive in the right to carry as i do i just can not say i allow it do to the way the legal system is now.
