My car was broken into today at the gun show in Orlando and an iPad worth $50 at best was stolen.

The cops and me were ecstatic when the retard savages who broke my car window did not open the trunk and look inside the yeti cooler - had 1/2 dozen handguns. Cooler was dry just for storage.

Cops took finger prints ect and all came and thanked me for having my guns in the cooler in the trunk. Turns out the local savages wait around for the gun show. Carry guys leave their guns in the cars and trucks and the savages break into them looking for guns. Cannot take concealed carry into gun show.

Cops were really happy no guns stolen as they are most likely used by savages for violent crime. Bunch of them came and thanked me for keeping them hidden. I normally have a gun in the glove box - I got lucky - $500 damages but no stolen guns.

This is the group that has been actively targeting gun shows

http://www.orlandosentinel.com...-20150717-story.html

After security was improved they now have move to targeting gun show cars and are looking for concealed weapons left in cars as permit holders go to the gun show.

They went thru storage bins, glove box and used a old master lock padlock to break the window. No finger prints. Last time one of them got nabbed cause they left finger prints.

Why gun control will never work.

One of the show proceedures is to mark tires of cars around the show. Then , assuming guns , they check for marked tires in the area a few days later .Break in , take guns that they find .

Actively targeting gun shows and concealed weapons holders.

I spoke to the detective when he called to get the serial number of the iPad. He said they were really worried about guns being stolen as they are always put back in criminal circulation and they stay local for the most part.

This is property crime but it was also targeted crime. I used to park a similar older model Honda on the streets in NYC for years - nothing stolen cause it looks like it had no valuables. These savages were specifically looking for guns - the iPad taken was by chance.

I am seriously thinking of upgrading to full carry all the time.

Hmmm, didn't someone ask a criminal why he robbed banks? The answer was "because that is where the money is". I am not surprised. One of the local gunshows is at the Shrine auditorium. I would think that the show organizers would have some kind of parking lot security. Having said that, I no longer go to gun shows. I have NEVER found a good deal there. Stiil the post is a good wake up call especialy about not leaving firearms in the cabin of a car. I must confess that I do that, mainly because I can remove the gun from my person and put it in the armrest box while stil inside the car. If I were to put it in the trunk, the firearm would probably be visible for some period of time.

Maybe then NRA decals ects should not be on ones car. I think the cops need to address this ASAP. They were worried about these guys for sure and very relieved no guns were stolen.

This is the best for trucks http://www.consolevault.com/

The cops said they were waiting to see if people left stuff in the trunk. The savages can break into the car to get to the trunk, it would just take a second, if they know that is where the guns are.

If one wants to carry and have a normal lifestyle - cant take guns where carry is not allowed - guns shows, bars ect. Need secured storage and I only see that in trucks or maybe one of the lock boxes tied to the seat. So now I have to spend $50K on a new F-150 Wink

A bigger worry when ones vehicle is targeted for firearms related theft. The glove box normally has the home address of the person on the vehicle registration. Now the thugs know you have firearms and where you stay.

I've never been to one of any size where that weren't numerous bargains to be had. Perhaps the difference is in one's perception of a good deal. If someone expects to "steal" a gun off of a knowledgeable seller, that is not likely to happen.

A regular dealer/exhibitor at the shows in a larger city near here always had a few tables covered with pristine WW2 Walthers, Lugers, and accessories. After seeing him several times, I walked up to his table at the next show only to see a very few firearms.

I asked if he'd decided to sell his collection, and he replied as follows:
He had kept his pistols in a safe-deposit box at the bank for security. When he was going to a show, he'd go in, put them into a carry case, and then go about his business.

There is a local gang up there that hangs around in the parking lots of banks, waiting to see if people come out with something they didn't go in with (or, perhaps, visibly counting a big wad of bills, etc.). They spotted him, and when he went to a local convenience store about 5 minutes later, they'd followed him, broke into his car, and robbed him of a collection worth over $100,000.

You can never be too careful, or too situationally aware. Any time you might be marked as a target for robbery (leaving the ATM, etc.,) LOOK BEHIND YOU to see if you are being followed. Very simple, and can save you lots of money and misery.

Hmmm, pretty risky with video cameras in constant use, especially around convenience stores! Were they caught?

I had my car robbed in my own driveway a couple years ago.. My fault, I left it open..

Took my outdated GPS and the windshield mount (worth maybe $10) a few CD's, all my change and my phone charger. But left a pair of Klein Tool pocket knives worth $150... We think it was a local skanky druggie broad that wanders the neighborhood at night checking for open cars.

Well, now I don't leave anything of value in my car except i do leave a GPS mount on the windshield (bait), and inside the console glovebox I leave a 10 dollar bill.. Right below the small conibear trap I have in there to break a few fingers.. I been leaving my car open, but so far no luck catching anything! I may have to change the bait!

I can understand your thoughts, but you will almost certainly be sued if you "catch" something and may well lose.

I understand that as the laws now seem to protect the criminals. However a friend of mine who was an engineer for Santa Fe railroad in the 70's got tired of his truck being broken into to steal his C.B. radios. He finally got fed up + when the new C.B. went in there were treble hooks brazed onto the back. When he came out in the morning that wet was still hung up under the dash.Worked him over with a Louisville slugger, cut the hooks (leaving the barbs in of course) + left him in the parking lot.True justice can be sweet.

If one were to place a sniper watching over the parking lot would it be illegal because one was hunting over a baited parking lot?
