out of idle curiosity...

Question:
for those of you who own or are contemplating body armor, which brand, and why?

none of the above. Us armor is one of only 2 vests that was able to pass the more stringent FBI testing protocols. NIJ testing is a lower standard and a weak test. Why trust you life to the lower standard ? While i do jot work for us armor, i do own one of their vests and have turned 2 buddies onto it and all have been happy with the product and feel well protected.

I'm on my 3rd Second Chance.
Much litigation/corporate buy out has happened in the last few years. Safariland web page used to show several of their brands of armor. Never understood that, just make one line of armor and let the consumer decide if he/she wants to pay more for a thinner vest that has the same rating!

Didn't there used to be a saying, wear Second Chance, and you get a Second Chance ?

I would not wear anything with that name on it.

Second Chance, at one time, at the most "saves" in the industry!
I think they used to have, in a less political correct time, a slogan along the lines of "Sex and violence, you can't have one unless you survive the other".
