November is an awesome time here for getting an ocean feed. The snapper are coming in close and they are fat! the Kahawhai are running into the river mouths, and the water is warm enough to get out and look for selfish. The last few days has seen me doing all the above.

first up was a bit of surfcasting for snapper. Got my personnel best off the beach with this 12lber right on dark.

Then it was a bit of a Kayak in the harbour with a mate and we picked up 15 scallops and a feed of cockles

last night went back to where I caught the snapper but as surf and tide was wrong, we put on lures and targeted the kahawhai. It was epic and fish a cast type fishing with the river mouth full of them and mullet. 2 hours saw 30 odd landed, half of which we either let go again or gave away to other people.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Sounds good! Did some scallops in France recently cleaned and back in the shells with some white wine, salt, pepper and grated cheese and 10 mins in the oven! "To die for", said the wife! Got brownie points for that dinner!
