Yeah, its all been logged appts 80 years back. Shit to try and stalk through, but we are slowly finding the better areas and also the wallows etc. will be ok for the roar and rut. We have some cameras in some better bush about 40 minutes away, so just have to get in and change them sometime soon.

If you are lucky enough to have cell phone service there, get cameras that take and send the photos directly to you. Saves a lot of traffic in the area.

Yeah, Im thinking of doing just that, but its public land so first I want to see if anyone else is using the area. I dont want to start attracting other hunters.
JD, not much in the way of reception unfortunately.

Public land? Do it sneaky then mate with a bare bones minimum of materials. I did one seat with one 10" wide board 2' long wedged in the fork of a tree with an old rope strung as a back rest. The ladder was simply laid down in thick fern until required. I have actually walked several hunters past it and until I pointed it out none had any idea it was there.

Its actually one of the first things I do in a new area, look for signs of humans. Its amazing how often people make such obvious markings that lead you onto great areas.
