I have a Tikka 512SD in 9.3x74R U/O plus shotgun barrels. I am buying a set of .30-06 U/O barrels for it too. The 9.3mm barrels are scoped with a 1-4x Leupold in Tikka QD screw off mounts. I am looking for a 12g/.222 barrel set for it currently.

I have only worked up loads for it so far with 286 gr Woodleigh Protected Point Weldcore at about 2150 fps. Both barrels shoot with one inch with two shots each at 50 metres. However I ran out of ammo and didn't regulate it (the barrels have screws to regulate) before my Top End trip. Ended up doing reloading for my .450 and .375 and using those instead.

Having now killed three buffalo and a scrub bull witht the .450 I want to take the 9.3mm to the Top End and try it on buffalo, scrub bull and boars as well. Another excuse perhaps. Smiler In the meantime perhaps some pigs closer to home. The scope makes a big difference and I think will make the rifle much more versatile.

I would have loved to use nothing but the .450 and 9.3mm on this last trip.

I want to try some lighter bullets in the 9.3mm as well such as the 250 gr Nosler BT. The rifle is very mild to shoot.

Shot only paper so far but will shoot some rabbits with it for practice just to see if I can. I would be lucky to hit a rabbit with the .450 at all.

Country? Was probably made in Finland. Correction - Made in Italy.

Used the shotgun barrels on rabbits yesterday. Four bunnies for four shells. Cool

I am disappointed that you did not get to try the 9.3 on buffalo. I would love to try my 9.3x74R on a buffalo, but I picked up a .458 bolt gun just in case.
