Just wondering if you got you paid a gunshop for there time could you import one of the Armalite AR50 single shot .50 BMG's or the State Arms Single shot or any other of the single shot .50's ?? I see there running around $2600 US so I figure $4k landed ?? But I heard they can't be exported from America ?? Be a great long Range Rock Rifle

50BMG is a Restricted caliber in Qld and most probably all other states as well. As such the only way one can own a weapon in this caliber here in QLD is to have it deactivated. Try a 338 Lapua? APB

Nope, that ban [and the 'R' category] seems to be unique to Queensland. Mind you, I wouldn't like your chances of getting a P to A for one in WA. Cat B in Vic - I've seen them at one of the gunshows a few years back. Don't recall who had them though. Might be worth asking Peter Van Meurs at Pro-Cal if he knows of any. Or this mob, in Qld interestingly enough, could build you one. Looking at a serious investment in loading gear and components, as well as the rifle, though. Cheers, Doug

Folks, am looking at the state arms single shot as it's in my budget and apparently a strong accurate action even though it's a more primitive shell holder type. I already have a press that will easily accomodate a .50 BMG round...................there are rounds which get around the bmg law bullshit shortened and improved varients etc.

Hey PC, Could you post that picture of your monster reloading vise again? Thanks, LD

They are in QLD just shortened to bypass 50 BMG stigma I’ve been told a smith in Townsville has a reamer. Why not a 460 wby necked up to 50 cal shot one the a few weeks ago great medicine cleans the sinuses puts the heart beating in the right rhythm stretches the mussels and aligns the vertebrae just like a pub brawl.

Thunder, We want to base it on the .50 case so the DTC option is first choice with the .416 Barret also a consideration..............................one might get better expansion ratio's with the .50 necked down to .458 I reckon. The .460 W necked up is a good choice but it's only 80% of what the big BMG based cases can do.
