There is an article in the news, that suggests that a Moose has been photographed in Fiordland. Study the pic's and form your own opinion. News Article Here's a couple of pictures of juvenile moose to give some reference: Thsi young moose is from a similar angle. Another junvenile Moose photo. IMO: The photo is of a young Red Deer with it's face close to the lens, which gives some distortion of shape. I doubt it's a Moose. Be nice if it was, but I don't think so. ...."At some point in every man's life he should own a Sako rifle and a John Deere tractor....it just doesn't get any better...."

I saw the TV program about 8 years ago which showed the video clip of an animal with its head hidden but the body was so different from a deer - hump on shoulder, bow in back, tall & leggy etc. All the other clips of deer were so different. DNA on hair found in the area and the big branches stripped & broken were considered typical moose feeding signs. "When the wind stops....start rowing. Yeah, I haven't dismissed the possibility of Moose still being in Fiordland (Even been there for a look: Seaforth & Herrick Creek, also done a little flying in that area.) However IMO the current picture is not a moose but a Red Deer. ...."At some point in every man's life he should own a Sako rifle and a John Deere tractor....it just doesn't get any better...."
