Saw this on NIOA's facebook page. Savage Arms has discovered that the bolt on some B.MAG rifles may inadvertently catch the safety button and slide it forward into the "fire" position. This condition is primarily present if downward pressure is applied to the bolt too early while pushing it forward. While Savage has received no reports of accidents due to this condition, we have decided to offer free retrofits of all B.MAG rifle bolts out of an abundance of caution and in our ongoing commitment to quality and safety. He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

How do these little errors make their way off the quality control production line? Good that it has been picked up albeit late. Posts: 87 | Location: Victoria Australia | Registered: 07 September 2002

Because the quality control people are as stupid as the engineers/designers who put the faults there in the first place. How many quality control people would keep their job if they put their hand up and said that design is dumb, they work and are paid by the same company as the engineers/designers.
