Sometime back, RLI posted on here looking for anyone interested in buying a new Winchester 1895 in .405 Winchester. Since that time, Winchester Australia has finally decided to bring in the .405 but only in lots of five rifles.

Safari Firearms in Sydney (who are great guys to deal with) have two definite customers for .405s and one other very likely customer) but we need two other customers to go ahead with the order.

Anyone interested in a new M95 in .405? The price will be $2,095 - which is a fabulous price!

Anyone hankering for a M95 might also be interested to know that, Buffalo Arms Co Buffalo Arms sell a modern copy of the Lyman Receiver sight for the Winchester 95 which is an excellent accessory to add to this outfit - I'll be buying one, that is for sure.

If anyone is interested in a M95, please let me know and I will liaise with Safari Firearms or can give you their contact details so you can talk direct.

cheers,

Bob

John,
I know the problem well and as soon as the order is confirmed, I will be selling my original M95 in .405 to finance my new one. I would sooner have a shooter than a collector.

RLI,
I believe that these will just be the standard model with blued finish. Colour casehardened models would be nice but I think they would be considerably dearer.

SamFisher2,
Yes, Hornady ammo is the only ammo available for the .405 but ammo is already here in Oz and empty cases and dies are also available.

If I had that set of tits and legs, I wouldn't bother with the rifle.

But Stu C, ...

I'd rather have this one with all accessories

...If you did have that one, with all the accessories, you probably wouldn't get to shoot it much as the accessories would keep you too busy to go shooting.

Now, you might like to fantasize that these accessories will keep you busy in the 'right' way but, as most of us have found out to our loss, it would most likely be: "You can't go shooting because...."

"you haven't mowed the lawns yet!", or "we have that lunch at mother's today!" or "I want to get new curtains and I need you to help me pick them out", but most probably it would be "But you went shooting last month and the kids want to go to the park!".

Na, take my advice, just buy the rifle - it will never give you a hard time, never tell you what to do, never say "not tonight" and won't get jealous of the other guns in your gunsafe.

Aw, come on, we just need one more buyer to be able to go ahead with the deal - surely one of you guys would want to own a real rifle?

We are still one buyer short for this deal but I have told Safari Firearms that I will pay for two, if necessary, and then I'll find a buyer for the second one. So, if any of you guys really want one but can't find the money right now, this may be a way out for you. The shipment will probably arrive in around March of next year, so that gives you some time to put the dollars together, as well.
