In the wake of the Virginia Tech Shootings, Nine MSN are running a poll to ask if Australia's gun laws need to be tightened (as if an incident in the US has anything to do with our laws!!!!).

Make sure you vote, because we are currently running behind in the voting and we don't want to give the anti-gunners any ammunition to try and take more guns off of us.

And pass the info onto as many shooters as you know.

The link to the poll is: http://ninemsn.com.au/

I voted "No," but it appears that the Australian anti-self defense Bliss Ninnies are killing your Rights.

255,000+/- votes for MORE gun control vs. only 5,600+/- in favor of your Rights.

Apparently the Sheeple in Australia are even more numerous than the sheep on your large sheep ranches.

They have now switched polls - the previous one didn't stay on the web long and I don't know how it ended up.

Now they are asking if Australia's gun laws have made this a safer country.

This is a tricky question to answer because we all know that the laws are primarly designed to shutdown our sport, and so only contribute marginally (if at all) to public safety, but to say so could give the anti-gunners more ammunition to push for more and tougher laws (which again will only affect the honest firearms owners).

Hmmm, what to say? What are your thoughts?

BwanaBob,
Say nothing and contact your local member ... let them know your unhappy that US domestic affairs are being discussed as a pre-cursor to changing Australian State laws.
Since when has the domestic policies/issues of one nation had to do anything with anothers???
Totally stupid.
Cheers...

There have been comments on another shooting forum that this MSN poll was alledgedly "rigged". That the "more gun control" votes were changing by very very large amounts in short periods of time.

I believe this was previously also done with an RSPCA of Tasmania anti-duck hunting poll, and IMO there was a lot of evidence to show that 'rigging' was obvious.

I personally do not believe the numbers posted by any means ie 255,000+/- votes for MORE gun control vs. only 5,600+/- in favor of your Rights.

That questions is double loaded. It is a classic - "When did you stop beating your wife?" question.

If you say it didn't make Aust safer, there is support for them to call for more gun laws. If you answer it did make Aust safer, you are talking bullshit and also saying gun laws work. When they often don't.

Well I'm confused

"Have Australia's gun laws made the nation safer?"

What sort of an arshole dumb loaded question is this!

So how am I supposed to vote??? If I vote 'yes', am I saying the excessively restrictive gun laws as an improvement, adequate, need to be increased???? or what.

If I voet no, then the statistics can be used to justify tighter controls as the figures will show that people dont think there is enough control.

Jesus, I think your all better off not to vote!
