Well because I'm the boss and no one is around I treated myself to an early knock off and slipped down to Port Albert. My first time there and had about 4 hours on the water. Pretty happy with the results. 3 Mullet (snapper bait) 2 whiting and 1 flathead caught on a lure.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Good result and enjoyed too I bet.
Only been fishing once over our Summer so far. Weather up our way has been shit. So much rain it's unreal. I think it's affecting fish behaviour - maybe more fresh water runoff than usual, although that's pure speculation on my part. All I can say is Snapper fishing has been very tough. Both of caught limits ( 7 Snapper each ) on the most recent outing but took us 9 hours on the water to do it. Usually that tally should be 4 to 5 hours. And the great majority of fish we caught were returned due to being undersized. All those bloody small fish do is gobble up all the bait as fast as they can. Cost of bought bait here now is almost the same as the amount of petrol used to fuel the outboard for an outing. Crazy.

Hunting.... it's not everything, it's the only thing.

Grant, since we went over to using big lures and drifting them instead of bait we hardly catch any small ones. Having said that, the cost of one lost lure would buy a lot of bait.
