Wondering how well they would sell @ about the $320.00 mark?

Mounts are fairly cheap. A good set should be under $40.00

A reasonable "bargain" 3 to 19 scope like the Hawke for $160.00

A good bargain price outfit for around the $520.

But the main question.

Would thw rifle alone sell OK for about the $320?

I dunno,it's a tough question.The cheapest bolt action is the Mossberg,at around $480.

I reckon so.
It would compete directly with the H&R Handi-Rifle which is about 100 bucks more expensive I think.

The Mossberg has ben on special since I got an account with the importer and I thought it a good deal too. But with scope it is still a couple of hundred dearer.

bit worried as I have 4 .223 Baikals coming and I don't want to be limbered with too many more s/s.

The BA is so entrenched of course.

And cockies aren't buying anything without rain. It needs to rain damn soon as this area here is doing it real tough. some cockies are starting to dry sow at present.

The Handi rifle and the Baikal would be interesting to compare as the Baikal has improved in leaps and bounds since i bought my first one 30 odd years ago.

I cannot for the life of me see any use or purpose for a sXs .223.
I'd like a SXS 45/70. The idea of a SXS rifle as I see it is to have two fast shots with considerable power that will hit something at close range that needs hitting.

The .223 is a cartridge for "smallish" ferrals and "varmints". It can be an accurate longish range rabbit gun in a bolt action of single shot.

Just my thoughts.

Being in the USA when we say s/s we mean a side by side. But singleshot is ss, at least here. Are you talking about a side by side or a singleshot?

You are right Lame Duck, It seemed to me that otheres had assumed he was talking about a sideXside and so that is what I assumed.

A single shot .223 would make a lot more sence.
