I have been trying to find a left hand Win M70, or CZ550 but have not had much luck so far. Prefer a magnum boltface, but will consider a standard boltface too. Can be new or second hand (but has to be in good condition).

If anyone has a lead on either of these models, I would appreciate it.

Only interested in the listed actions, not any other alternatives.

Thanks

Cleaver Firearms in Brisbane list the LH CZ550, at $3005. They are pretty much on the long and heavy side for a .375 though. Really better suited to the .416 and up cartridges. It seems that CZ don't make a standard length 550LH action, only the Magnum.

Leftie Win M70's don't come up very often, as they went out of production in 2006, when USRAC closed their New Haven plant. And those that have them, tend to hang on to them! There were some quality control issues with the last New Haven rifles, too.
FN USA say that they intend to produce them again, but the ETA seems to keep on receding into the distance...

All you can do, is keep an eye on the online sales sites, like usedguns and ozgunsales [which seems to be down just now].

Cheers,
Doug

Thanks, will talk to Cleaver and see if they actually have one, as a few shops list them but dont actually have them on hand. I have seen a few available in stock with US vendors, and could probably import one for something in the low - mid 2k range all up. The project is a 375 RUM, so happy to have the weight.

I know the issues about the M70s, and have been looking for a while. Thought I'd put out the word here just in case. I have been surprised what a request to the internet will turn up in the past.

Always a good idea.

A bloke was looking for a Win Mod 70 in 7x57,
spent a couple of years looking for one and decided to buy in the US. I suggested he use
the net and keep searching. He found one
a month later.

Cleavers quite often have them, and they do at least give a price. Dunno that any the non-stockists will do so, given who the Oz distributor is.

If you haven't done a rifle import from the US before, be warned. It'll come in at at least mid 2k's to import a new CZ, what with US Export Licence/exporter fees, courier charges, dealer Customs pickup charges at this end, and GST.

Best bet is to find a dealer who does regular imports from the US, to 'piggyback' on as many of the charges as possible.

Cheers,
Doug

Rock Island Auction in U.S. is having an auction near the end of this month. Check lot # 413. Two Winchesters a .375H&H & .300 Win. Mag. The company is pretty large and I am sure they export. I would contact them and also check on export fees on preowned firearms. It might be a lot cheaper than new. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the heads up on importing. I have done it before, so know what I am in for. Its the time I find the most painful, but still quicker than dealing with the local agent in most cases.

Thanks MLF

I have been thinking about putting in a bid on these. Not sure at this stage, but does seem like a good option for getting my hands on a couple of very desirable rifles.

G'Day Fella's,

Bwana_500, have a look at www.usedguns.com.au under the "Whats New" heading! Depending on when you look at this, you may need to look at the other headings for these rifles and or actions!
If I remember correctly, there were a couple of LH rifles and or actions on there in the last week!
I'm sure one of them was a very nice "Looking" custom LH Mauser 98 rifle in .404 Jeff.....

Hope that helps

Doh!
