Is the 22K hornet a popular caliber in your neck of the woods ? I'm setting one up in a Contender carbine -haven't shot it yet -but I see a lot of posts from places other than the USA & folks are having very good sucess with it.
Thank you in advance for your time & help.

I think they got left behind in the race for speed and power even though they are a handy little gun.
I know one fella only that has one down under.

I have one on a Sportco Martini action. Nice little rifle. I've enjoyed shooting but it's now for sale.

Contact me if interested. I'll be in Australia in April.

I have one on a cadet action . Its a handi little rifle for bunnies and goats. I have loading gear but usually shoot factory Hornet ammo cos it is fairly cheap and doesnt make much difference to my type of shooting.

If you want a nice shooter that has a little more history and tradition to it than the Gee-Whiz new calibers of today then you should be more than happy.

Quite a few in Western Australia as they are considered by our police as low powered and are therefore easier to license than a .222 or up . Has some mechanical advantages over the standard case , is supposed to stretch less , be a little more flexible to load and perhaps another 150 FPS .
Think I'd go with a .221 Fireball if I were you though as case is much stronger and easier to reload .Better reputation for accuracy and just a little more grunt than the K Hornet .

The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.

My brother had one chambered in a Ruger No.3
T'was a nice thing.
It was fairly common to convert your Hornet to K in years past.
I'm sure there are any number of them around these parts.
