| Didnt have to go there coz of the Sal trees in the background Great pic Nitro as usual and i think the last time a sambar stood front on like that for me in the open was in 1993 in the Gatta early one morning (a hind it was) so its not a usual happening at all...out in the open he may be but he looks ready to jump like em all.

| The range of this sambar is somewhere between 200 and 300 metres from the camera. It was a long way in the distance across an open field (an old farming plot). Bandhavgargh National Park, Madhya Pradesh near Kharurago. Saw a huge beast only 15 metres from the "gypsy" (jeep) but it was up and away too quickly and never got a photo off. |
