Some of us here in Yank land are a bit slow to catch some of the excellent films made in Australia.
Saw "The Castle" a couple of nights ago and was utterly delighted. None of the actors were familiar to me, but they were all fabulous.
Are you guys hiding any more great flicks down your way?

To build on the excellent suggestions so far:-

A very old one critically acclaimed is Picnic at Hanging Rock.

Some others you might be interested in.
Historical Aboriginals in films / Great scenery of the outback:-

Jedda
Rabbit proof fence
Their is another one which is really good but I cant think what it is. EDIT - The film I was thinking of was Jedda.

Storm Boy
My Brilliant Career
The Chant of Jimmy Blacksmith
Crocodile Dundee
Romper Stomper - critically acclaimed but very rough / tough film
The Odd Angry Shot (Vietnam movie)

And then of course you have the Mad Max series

One not to see unless you are into trash movies is Razorback.
A pig version of the Predator !!!

You never know with what's running around the NT.

What, with Pygmy Hippo's
I believe a few Giraffe and other exotic species.

I reckon we need a few Lions.

Bloody lovely kudu, Matt. Where did you take him?

Thanks for all the additional titles, guys. Many I had not heard of.
Couple of others I remembered: Rikki and Pete, and Walkabout.

"The Proposition".

A lawman apprehends a notorious outlaw and gives him 9 days to kill his older brother, or else they'll execute his younger brother.

I have ordred all of the movies mentioned in this thread (except Croc Dundee) that are available through Netflix. Just hope some of them are good movies. I did notice that a lot of them are 90 minute movies which usually indicates a "B" movie or less. Keeping my fingers crossed.
