Will be quite a haul; Red Stag, Bull Tahr, Chamois, Arapawa Ram and was there Goose, Turkey and Wallaby as well?
I've skinned out afew possums for hunting clients, for one guy I think the posssum was the highlight of the hunt.

That bear mount you have is a slammer, will you get the same taxidermist to do your Africa and NZ mount?

The 7mm SAUM is going well. 90% 1 shot kills to it's credit.
10 animals, only the first one, a Red Stag, took more than one shot. Some nice long shots and a few at difficult angles.
Did you manage to sell your one?

Hunts more or less over for 2004.
Have an Aussie guy coming over to Bow Hunt a Bull Tahr, on 9th Oct. Oct is good timing as the Big Bulls split from the main herd, and makes it slightly easier to get closer.
The capes are not so good. Thinning and going very creamy.
Plenty of winter capes available if you need them. Personally I like to mount the animals original cape.

Tony you must finish your story Day3-4 onwards.

Haul indeed. Troy's stuff, which included the Canada goose, is all in the same crate, and my taxidermist -- Marc Plunkett -- will be mounting my critters and Troy's stag and tahr.

Not sure what I'll do with the wallaby. I might have it mounted life-size or maybe I'll just have the hide tanned. The taxidermy bill is a killer, though. That bear cost me enough to have three or four shoulder mounts done.

I still have the new M700, mostly because I haven't put any effort into selling it. I should be selling it right now with the seasons in full swing. Think I'll list on the gun auction site tomorrow.

You're right about finishing the story. I thought I had done that but I just searched and see I hadn't. Later this week after I get two articles done. -TONY

I'll bet there isn't too many mounted Wallabys floating around the USA. Probably quite a valuable item.
I remember Troy mentioning that if he had one mounted, that he'd probably be able to sell it for a small fortune.
We're under snow here right now and still snowing heavily.
The skiers are real happy about that.
Have you put a few shots through your 7mm SAUM. I must admit I'm impressed with the performance out at 350-400 yards, those Tahr just fall down dead every time. Can't say the same for some of the other commonly used calibers down here in NZ. I've stuck with the 140 gr Nosler partitions.
They're flying out at about 3,200 FPS.
I'm glad the gun has a 24 inch barrel as a lot of the Remington M700 only have 22 inch.
Gun prices in NZ have taken quite a drop.
A Remington Titanium cost about NZD$3,500 12 months ago (If you could get one.) Now I see one dealer flogging them on the web (E-bay equivalent) at $2,050.
Scopes have not dropped by as much.
