On the 2nd of June I am committing marriage, again, and on the 11th my wife and I will be moving onto a property in the Oberon area.

Wow, it will be fabulous to be out of the rat-race of Sydney and living in an area where there is lots of good hunting - I won't know what to do with myself ..... like bloody hell I won't - I'm planning on wearing out lots of barrels over the next couple of years!

Gongrats on the marrage BB and on living in Oberon.....bloody cold there. Very close to where my in-laws-live. They're at Hartley. You have to drive right past their house before the turn off on the Great Western Highway. I was there a week ago for a few weeks. Father-in-law passed on unfortunatly. While I was there I did happen to see a nice little band of feral goats. Plenty to hunt in those parts.

Bakes,
Yes I know it is going to be cold. Everytime I am asked what we want for a wedding present, I tell them a chainsaw and a block-splitter to feed the slow combustion fire!

When I am established, the next time you are down, give us a yell and I will organise some critter busting.

The only downside of moving to Oberon (beside the cold) is that I am working on getting a contract at Glenbook at the moment (yes, I may be putting a blue uniform back on!) so I will have a lot of driving, but I think it will be worth it. The distances will be greater but the time is no different to driving to work in a mad-house like Sydney.

John,
Thanks for the congrats!

I'll take you up on that!. Glenbrook would be a pain in the arse every morning. Most of the mountains is now a 60 zone AND there are about 5 bloody schools along the hwy so you have to slow down to 40!

Thanks Tony,

But work commitments have severely restricted the honeymoon, so we are planning a big honeymoon, for our first anniversary, which will start in Mauritius and then we'll head off to the dark continent!

There's good trout fishing as well!As soon as the drought breaks, that is.I've also seen Fallow on my journeys to and from rivers, not to mention the goats.
If you flyfish, let me know and I'll send you some patterns that will work.

Are you a river or lake man? If the rains ever come and the rivers flow I'll come up and give you a few lessons in the fine and noble art of losing flies to trees. If you fish the rivers be prepared to lose a lot of flies.
pm me as to where you plan to fish and I'll tie up somethign to suit. naming streams on an open forum is like advertising a 21st party on the net and being surprised when a whole bunch of strangers turn up.

That depends on your point of view. If the aim is to put the fly in front of the fish, then I'm possibly the worst.
If the aim is to spend hours losing flies in trees and blackberries on the other hand...

Cheers, Dave.
