It seems in Australia you do not make a big deal of Remembrance day. I saw a fellow wearing a poppy but never did see any for sale. On the 11th at 11:00 my wife and I were on our way to take a steam riverboat tour at Echuca on the Murry. We stopped and I removed my hat for 2 min. of silence and so did two other fellows I could see. The rest of the people went by walking and talking as usual. Eventually we each saw the other standing in silence and gave each other a nod as we understood what each other was doing. (www.army.fores.gc.ca?chi...eng6mb.wvb) Robin down under

Sometimes people just don't give a rat arse. Pity really. I think because it fell on a weekend people don't think about it. ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Maybe its too much duplication with ANZAC Day. Seems to be mostly the same thing to me anyway. ANZAC day to commemurate all servicemen (starting off with WW1 and the ANZACs) or Remembrance Day for the end of WW1.

Add to that the fact there are a lot less WWI and WWII veterans than there were 10 years ago. lest we forget. I'm a medic, not a doctor. a doctor will save your life, a medic will make you comfortable while you die.
