They are not common. Last Brisbane gunshow, there was a NSW dealer that had a nice 303/25 sporter on a Springfield action about $425 with a Redfield 3x9 scope. It went Saturday morning before 10am.

Good to see you back, BAW.
I already have a 243 that would better the performance of the 25/303, if thats where they sit, performance wise.
How hard are the p14's to get hold of?

The local gunshop came across a 303/25 built on a lee-enfield action with sporting wood.It looks in good condition, the bore looks good, blueing OK, only open sights but not bad ones. No marks indicating the gunsmith on the barrel but it looks like a pretty good job.
Its a pretty reasonable price for what it is ,I think.
Whats your views??

I have 2- one on a SMLE and the other on a P14

The SMLE (scoped) will deliver loads almost equivilant to the old 250 Savage i.e. 87gn around 2800fps and 1.5-1.75MOA.

The P14 is quite different. Forget the handloading books; 90gn Sierra gamekings at 3280fps with sub MOA grouping. My rifle was built by old Bill Marden in Sydney and although quite heavy is an excellent hunting rifle

Trev, I've only had experience of one built on a SMLE, and it was just as capable of knocking over pigs and goats as my 270. It did, however, have problems with feeding - don't know why (it was an old rifle that had been in the family for years.

As a cartridge, I'd be happy to own one, but that particular rifle was a bitch to use - jammed every time I needed a quick follow up - may not be typical.
