A plate licker!! May it distroy your house like my two BLOODY dogs have jumping

Keep us up to date with the training, will be interesting to see how it developes.

Well after being with the misses for 15 years and her never getting me anything to do with hunting or fishing for chrissy (go figure Roll Eyes) she FINALLY got me a voucher to Tex's gun shop clap AND one to a tackle shop for my birthday dancing

Narrowed it Down to GWP or English Pointer, opted for the GWP as they can handle the cold better. Hopefully, I'll have a good alrounder to point Pheasants, Retreive Ducks, and track down wounded Deer. The mum is damn good hunter, doing all the above.

That little pup breaks my heart. Unfortunately I will be in the market for a new pup as my not very "old boy" will not be with me next hunting season. A tumour of the spine. Still very alert but has lost the use of his hind legs. Frowner

I will be looking for a new GSP. Maybe one day a nice GWP. How do GWP's handle the heat?

John,

Sorry to hear about your dog.

I had to have my GWP put down a month ago, age 14. He felt the heat but it didn't slow him down. He was the best hunter I have come across, he even pulled down largfe billies on his own. He was a great dog, the best, very gentle.

I have replaced him with a second viszla. My other viszla is less headstrong than the GWP and better for my type of hunting, which involves walking at heel on the stalk. Viszlas can be a bit cold sensitive.

Viszlas need to be "indoor dogs" in my opinion as they really get pleasure out of dog human interaction. There is a really good viszla dealer in Tassie.

regards,

mike

Not sure about the heat, but the reason I went for this breed is because they handle the cold.
