A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

muzza, right across the board, Australians have stopped writing hunt reports an posting videos on Forums..

its as though everyone is worried about secrets being revealed or something.

I still post quite actively on an Australian forum, but its mostly Sambar deer hunt reports..

With facebook these days, most photos get published there or most hold out as the Magazines are always going to take Stories by average joes, it creates a full mag, full mags sell. I rekon ive seen the same Stories in 2 different Deer hunting Mags....

I actually get quite frusterated with the Forums, so many members an so little contributions..

Lot more people prefer to talk about it, than be about it eh.

I am fully aware of why people dont post stories any more - here anyway. Posting a story about a pleasant afternoon out with the rifle usually gets you harrassed for not bagging a world record whatever , or not having the correct gear or some other thing you have done wrong..

One or two of the members here make a lifetime study of belittling other peoples efforts , so now the other people dont bother posting at all - which is a shame because this used to be a busy , interesting place.

Maybe forums are like hunting mags , in that they do have a finite lifetime for readers.

And I confess - I havent posted anything for a long time either so I guess I am part of the problem too.

Just got my application away for the annual ballot for Tahr blocks with them open from May to end June.
While you can hunt these areas all year round it is the only time you are permitted to use a chopper for access into these wilderness areas deep in the Southern Alps and there are no huts. This guarantees you will have the block all to just your hunting party.

If we are fortunate to get a block, have been every year although I didn't get to go last year, I will post a report.

No issue with posting reports about hunting in this country, if foot hunters do not or cannot control animal numbers then the government department entrusted with preserving the environment sends in the helicopter gunships.
